sneakers November 18th, 2008 by Larry

I recently posted a preview of the new Nike Store at Lenox Square and had a chance to be one of the first people to create some sneakers in their Nike iD Studio. This morning, I was totally surprised to get a phone call telling me my shoes had arrived (a little over 2 weeks later, that’s fast!). I went for a clean/basic look and as it turns out, my new Dunks match my new Atlanta Hawks fitted that I picked up at Philips Arena a week ago. Speaking of Philips Arena… does anyone want to go to AC/DC on December 16th?

I just returned from a wild weekend in Charlotte, North Carolina which happens to be where our buddies The Joneses got their start and is the home to several of our friends with StreetLocal. While I was up there, I took some time to stop by one of my new, favorite shops called Black Sheep where I picked up this Limited Edition shop hoodie that’s apparently been in high-demand as of late. Thanks to Black Sheep’s owner, Josh, for recommending some great places to hang out. I’m looking forward to making the Queen City trip more often in ‘09. It seems like everywhere I go, there’s family.

Come out and celebrate Slugger’s birthday this Wednesday night. The night starts off at Bookhouse Pub around 9pm and moves to El Bar around 11. See you out!

Here are some more photos from last Thursday’s PROCESS x Sopobikes Event at El Bar. These come courtesy of Hadi S. and his brand new camera that he’s so excited about. Check out our boy, Joe Martinez, all-over-the-place…

The Process x Sopobikes event was a big success. Thanks to everyone that came out and showed us support. Also, thanks to Rachael and Tito from Sopobikes for making us a bike. It looks dope. We are planning to re-up on some more tees to sell on our online store. So stay tuned if you are interested in getting your hands on one.

Thanks to everyone who came out for our PROCESS x ThoughtMarker event last month. We gave away those ATL tees for FREE! Come out this time and support a great local organization, Sopobikes, by purchasing one of these special tees illustrated by your boy, Georgios Saliaris. Yes, we made girls and guys tees in all sizes! They’ll be $15 the night of the event. No need to bring cash out. You can add them to your bar tab!

What an amazing evening! Thanks to Ross, Stefan, Ben, Georgios, and Ted for helping to capture the images from last night. Check out all the photos from last night after the jump. There are a lot of them, so be patient as they load-in.

It’s 3am, and Atlanta is still celebrating the results of the presidential election.
On my way home from the El Bar Election Night event, I ran across an exuberant impromptu block party on historic Auburn Avenue, downtown. Cars blockaded the intersection and filled it with music as people danced in the streets. It was an amazing sight to see. See more photos by clicking ‘Read More’

Come spend Election Night with us! If you come with your “I Voted” sticker, you’ll get a free shot compliments of Rosa and Colleen of El Bar. We will be projecting a live news feed on the wall, so don’t worry. You won’t miss the results!

I cruised up to Standard this morning for the release of the Ladainain Tomlinson Air Force 1 sneaker. Here you see Ryan Acker [StreetLocal] and Farshad with a pair of the highly desired sneakers. Check out my photos of the folks that camped out on Standard’s blog.

If you came through El Bar tonight for the PROCESS x ThoughtMarker event, you probably talked to Cory and Slugger about the Atlanta Falcons and their Dirty Bird mentality at the front door. If you were able to score yourself one of our Limited ATL tees, consider yourself lucky! Lots of photos after the jump. Read more »

The PROCESS x ThoughtMarker tees are ready for Thursday night’s event at El Bar. Remember to come out and say the password, “Dirty Bird” to score yourself one of these, especially if you rep ATL hard.

We got together with ThoughtMarker art blog to create a graphic tee that represents Atlanta to the fullest. We chose ATL-based artists, businesses, streetwear labels, galleries, and individuals that we mutually love working with to be represented on this tee. We’ll be giving them away for FREE at El Bar, Atlanta on Thursday, October 16th around 11:30pm. All you have to do is show up and say “Dirty Bird” to score your very own PROCESS x ThoughtMarker tee.
Thanks to King Screen for helping with this project’s production.

Thanks to Zach Wolfe for emailing this photo over.
I “like it a lot” that Bubba Sparxxx is a fan of PROCESS. It is inspiring to know that our graphics have resonated with some of the Dirty South’s best. Here’s a small taste of what’s to come on Bubba’s new album, The Impolite Gentleman, coming out in early 2009.

It was great to see people enthusiastically registering to vote! People came out to discuss the Vice Presidential Debate and dance the night away. Here’s the unofficial “song of the night” as deemed by DJ Cristo Disco:

Lately, everyone I’ve spoken to has been upset with the state of our country. Gas crises, the Dow plummeting, and banks calling it quits should be enough to scare any American. I’ll admit that I feel helpless and fearful of what’s to come. However, I’m not just going to sit around and complain while playing video games and eating Chik-Fil-A (that’s so last century). I’m afraid that too many young people would rather sit on their laurels and bitch than taking action. I’d like to be proven wrong…
After talking to Ted and Georgios for a week or so, we’ve decided to get together with our friends with El Bar, Standard, Streetlocal, Decatur Dan & Thoughtmaker to organize a Voter Registration Night at El Bar this Thursday [10.2.08]. Enough of us feel the urgency to incite people to fulfill their civil duty by voting for our next President. Here is your chance to do something!
***If this is your first time voting in Georgia, you need to bring a photocopy of your ID to register***
We’ll kick it off around 10:45pm on Thursday. We’ll have the registration forms ready to rock and DJ Cristo Disco will keep us entertained into the night.

Congrats to El Bar for winning Critics Pick as Best Dance Club in Creative Loafing! They didn’t have a door guy last night and I was going to be there anyway, so I volunteered to do door duties. As you can see in the photo, they let me arrange the magnetic letters and I kinda geeked out on the letterspacing. Thanks to all the regulars, newbies, and PROCESS crew that came out.

One of the most unique brands we discovered at Agenda was MapleXO from Portland, Oregon. The whole concept behind MapleXO is to create jewelry out of recycled skateboards in a completely un-tacky way. It’s very cool to see remnants of old skate graphics from years past and you can count the different layers of wood laminate used in the original board. The brands talented creator (and chocolate chip cookie baker), Lindsay Holmes, makes every piece by hand! Needless to say, no two pieces are alike, so what you get is totally one-of-a-kind. Very cool stuff.

We met Jae and Steven from The Loots outside of the The Sofia Hotel after the first day of Agenda. A casual conversation about the clothing industry led to stories of them being in the Korean Air Force and Israeli Military. Needless to say, they’re a bit older than we are and they have a lot of experience moving units on both coasts. It was great to pick their brains for a couple days and get some quality advice and encouragement from these guys who know the ins and outs of this fickle industry. Big ups to The Loots.
